July 09, New York/ Sheldon Xia, Founder & CEO of BitMart Exchange attended the Future of Cryptocurrency in the U.S., China, and Beyond event.

This event was hosted by Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business (New York) and partners, including NYU China New Generation Entrepreneurship Initiative, Asian Affairs Committee, New York City Bar Association and the Asian American Bar Association of New York ("AABANY"). The event agenda was packed with insights from keynote speakers and panel members such as Chief Representative at CKGSB Americas Mary Wadsworth Darby, International Lawyer Eric Bai, COO at Amberdata Tongtong Gong, Founder of Women4Blockchain and Crypto4Asset Anna Vladi.

Cryptocurrency gained a lot of attention when the Bitcoin price surged to $20,000 in 2017. As it steps into a more bearish market, people may have concerns about the future of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology. As such, the main topics discussed during the event included whether cryptocurrency is a bubble or the future of money, challenges in the legal framework in U.S. and China, as well as how to promote gender diversity in the blockchain.

Speaking on the development of blockchain technology, Sheldon believes the combination of a token economy and exchanges will be a trend for the future of cryptocurrency. As one of the earliest cryptocurrency trading players in the Chinese market, Sheldon launched DSCoin in 2013 and participated in the operation of the dscoin.org exchange.
